Once named after the inventor Hans v. Klinken, there are now many variations of the original Klinkhammer. This Klinkhammer Red, developed in collaboration with Superflies, has a particularly economical body and has often been able to convince particularly cautious fish after other flies have been ignored. If trout and grayling only rise selectively and take deep-seated mayflies on the surface, a Klinkhammer is just the thing! This red variant can also be used to imitate a chironomid larva. Due to the horizontal hackle winding, these parachute patterns drift shallower and outwit even the most sensitive fish. The highly visible poly yarn not only improves buoyancy, but also facilitates bite detection in fast water or in low light conditions
