Brown and gray caddis flies are everywhere! We encounter the swarming Cinnamon Caddis on almost every body of water on warm summer evenings. The fish know this too and often boldly pounce on the fluttering insects. It is precisely for this reason that this type of caddis fly imitation has been tried and tested for decades and has lost none of its catchability over the years. Due to the densely tied deer hair, it is particularly buoyant and can be offered both as streaking caddis, i.e. skated, and in dead drift. It is also a very good fly for dry dropper rigs, where the dry fly also serves as a strike indicator for the nymph drifting underneath. The colored antron on the wing serves as a visual aid in difficult lighting conditions.
