One of the greatest features of the award-winning model is the removable lower-legs. This means that the pants can be transformed in warm weather by zipping off the lower-legs, turning them into shorts. At the top of the zipped trousers sits a drawstring and at the bottom a boot hook - this results in perfect-fitting pants that protect lower legs from brush while on the trail. The seat area, front leg, and knee area are made of G-1000® Eco for extra durability, with the rest made of stretch material. The leg cuffs are reinforced with extremely abrasion-resistant G-1000® HeavyDuty to withstand the abrasion of hiking boots. The seat area and knees are pre-shaped and have reinforced seams. To prevent chafing, the seams on the inside of the leg were moved forward. The ventilation zips on the thighs allow excess heat to escape, and the fly is also particularly long to serve as a ventilation option when needed. The pants have two leg pockets with flaps, one with an inner mesh pocket for mobile phones and other small things. The pockets are also set so high that the content does not fall out when sitting down. The leg cuffs are adjustable with a strap and have a concealed boot hook to connect to your boot laces - preventing branches, rocks, snow, and whatever else you might kick up on the trail from getting into your boots.
Fjällräven also offers the environmentally friendly Greenland Wax (Paraffin and beeswax), which you can impregnate into the G-1000® material, to create a water-repellent surface - a great addition for the winter months.
