Umpqua Tippet Ring Premium 2mm 10pc-pack

So small, so useful! Tippet rings are a great help as they create a connection between leader/polyleader and tippet.

These smooth, strong rings by Umpqua are simply tied to the end of a tapered leader or polyleader. Then, a piece of tippet is added. This allows the tapered leader or polyleader to maintain its original length and not shorten after each fly change. Tippet rings are also used in modern nymph fishing to switch between a sighter and tippet made of colored monofilament. Another significant advantage is the use of tippet rings when connecting monofilament with fluorocarbon. Directly knotting monofilament with fluorocarbon results in very low knot strength because fluorocarbon has a "sharper" surface and "abrasively" wears down the monofilament at the knot. Using a tippet ring prevents this. The same applies to connecting two lines with significantly different diameters.

These premium tippet rings by Umpqua feature a diameter of 2 mm and a reliable strength of 26 lbs (approx. 11.7 kg). Ideal for trout and grayling fishing or nymph fishing for barbel and other species. These extremely high-quality rings from Umpqua have an anodised, high-grade alloy and are supplied on a clever rigging tool with a practical attachment. This makes knotting even easier and you can be sure that you won't lose the small rings on the water.
