The EPR (Extreme Performance Rod) rod series is the new extension to the 2017 line-up of ECHO in the segment of super fast, super powerfull fly rods. It has been designed to cope with situations where high line speed, very tight loops, on-point presentaions and long casts are the name of the game. The EPRs fast and powerfull action facilitates fast pick up and re-presentaion of high-line quantities with bulky or heavily weighted flies. Firstly, EPR rods are the fastest and most powerfull rods produced in the history of ECHO which makes them the perfect tool for saltwater fisheries accompanied by the virtually ever-present wind. Secondly they are excellent when fishing for pike, musky and bass when castings big and biggest fly patterns with minimum amount of false casts is a necessity. Furthermore, this rod particularly shines when it comes to pin-point presentation of weighted flies tied to long leaders under windy conditions as often required in modern flats fishing for e.g. permit & co.
All EPR models show an extremely fast recovering tip action enabling you to perform crispy short distance casts. Further down the blank the rod provides the strongest backbone ever produced by ECHO which will never let you down when casting into the wind or fighting those strong saltwater fish. This action results from the high modulus graphite used to build the blank which also helped to cut down the weight of the rod. The EPR rods present themselves in jet-black with copper colored trim wraps on the light weight snake guides and oversized, solid titanium SIC stripping guides. Typical for this sort of fishing application these rods are fitted with a full wells grip and a fighting butt.
