Vision Musta Hiker With Michelin Sole

The Musta Hiker is a lightweight, approx. 12.5 cm high wading boot with a TPU-reinforced nylon upper. The TPU print in certain areas provides good wear resistance without making the shoe too bulky and heavy. The shoe is easy to put on and easy to take off. The EVA midsole and the front bumper of the Michelin sole to protect against stones etc. are stitched to the upper of the shoe. Another quality feature of this modern wading shoe! The shoe is designed for hiking and offers a comfortable fit and support for longer hikes, making it ideal for those who like to hike to their fishing spots. The lower ankle area has a comfortably soft but supportive foam collar that offers more movement compared to higher wading shoe models.

The Michelin sole, which Vision developed in collaboration with the world-famous tyre manufacturer Michelin, offers several advantages over many other rubber soles. The toe cap is integrated into the outsole so that it cannot be separated. The profile of the sole is inspired by the Michelin LTX A/S tyre, with modifications specifically designed for wading. The lugs on the sides are aggressively moulded and offer additional grip on slopes and muddy paths. The lugs in the centre have wavy indentations for grip and adaptability on uneven rocks. The lugs on the front and heel are designed to withstand the wear and tear of longer hikes, and their pattern provides extra traction when needed. For extremely slippery and slippery conditions, Michelin's product developers have provided recesses for spikes, which can be added if required (not included).

The rubber compound itself is a mixture of an off-road and a Scandinavian winter tyre compound. Just like the studless winter tyres on snow, these soles offer very good grip on rocks. The more pressure you apply to the sole, the more firmly it grips the rock, as the soft compound with the studs adapts to the uneven surface. In addition to the better grip, the shoe also has a very special feel when wading. The soft and highly adaptable outsole in combination with the flexible EVA midsole lets you feel what's under your shoe. At the same time, the sole offers sufficient grip even in the toughest conditions. On longer hikes, the shoe still rolls comfortably and offers good torsional rigidity.

All in all, a very well thought-out wading shoe from Vision that is a first-class choice for rubber-soled enthusiasts. If required and for additional grip, the Michelin sole can easily be supplemented with spikes.
