The heart of the new Orvis Pro LT Wading Boots is, as with the Pro Boots from orvis, a technical shoe sole, which enstand in a cooperative product development of Orvis and the rubber engineers of Michelin - tailored exactly to the requirements of fly fishermen.
The result: a very comfortable, shock-absorbing shoe sole that offers strong grip on slippery surfaces and, compared to brand soles from other renowned manufacturers, boasts 46% greater slip resistance on wet surfaces. The tread of the sole was based on a proven tire tread from Michelin, which is characterized by a large contact surface and a lot of grip on slippery surfaces and is able to withstand the tough use in changing terrain. For those who spend a lot of time on the coast or in rivers with very smooth rock surfaces, the engineers have placed 12 recesses in the sole for screwing in spikes. A reinforcement in the midsole specifically designed for the spikes also ensures that the spikes cannot tear out. The midsole comes with a 2-layer construction consisting of an ESS plate that provides torsional rigidity and secure anchoring of studs or spikes. Another layer of shock-absorbing Phylon provides the necessary comfort on longer hikes and is superior to classic EVA midsoles. Orvis Pro LT Wading Boots also know how to impress when it comes to the insole, as the removable 3-D Ortholite X25 insole is self-forming for maximum comfort!
The upper material of the LT Boot from Orvis is extremely abrasion resistant, but above all light. Thus, the Pro LT in size 43 just comes to a weight of 1200g. Thus, the LT (Light) wading shoe bestends suitable for sightfishing, on longer marches to the sport, when wet-wading or even on the flats. The low weight, maximum comfort and the extremely non-slip outdoor sole make the LT Boot a walking boot in a class of its own - even underwater!
