The Patagonia Granite Crest Rain Jacket weighs only 399 g, making it an incredibly lightweight rain jacket that can be conveniently stowed in its own chest pocket, achieving the smallest pack size. This allows it to be carried effortlessly, even in the smallest pockets or backpacks, without being a burden, whether facing challenging conditions by the river or during a hike.
However, this rain jacket is not only a brilliant shield against wind and cold but also an exemplary product in terms of sustainability and environmentally conscious manufacturing, as we have come to expect from Patagonia. The outer material of the Granite Crest consists of a 3-layer H2O Performance Standard NetPlus Material, made from 100% recycled Nylon Ripstop. A highly robust material, which, in combination with the PFC-free DWR coating, can withstand a high water column and protect the body from continuous rain or heavy showers. The hood, with its visor and well-thought-out drawstrings, also provides excellent protection for the face. The hem, waterproof front pockets, and the centrally located zipper with a zipper collar are also effectively sealed. And should it get warmer after a rain shower, the area under the armpits can be quickly ventilated with the also waterproof pit zippers.
The Patagonia Granite Crest Rain Jacket is the ideal companion for consistently bad weather or changing weather conditions, where the jacket can be stowed in an incredibly small pack size when not needed. And all this with an extremely light weight of under 400 g and sustainable manufacturing!
- NetPlus: Our beloved oceans and habitat for many fishes that are at the top of the list for anglers, such as the GT or Tarpon, are suffocating in plastic waste. Approximately 8.8 million tons of plastic waste are estimated to be thrown into the oceans each year, and fishing nets are one of the most harmful forms of this pollution. About 650,000 marine animals get entangled in ghost nets every year. The use of NetPlus materials in Patagonia's products is, therefore, all the more important. NetPlus material is a recycled nylon material obtained from disused fishing nets. In the extraction of NetPlus material, close collaboration with fishermen is maintained to keep hundreds of tons of retired nets out of the sea or remove them each year. The nets are sorted, cleaned, and shredded in Chile, and then processed into 100% recycled nylon pellets, known as NetPlus. These pellets can then be used to create molded plastic products, components, or fibers, finding a new sustainable purpose!

Established back in 1973, Patagonia stands for sustainable and functional outdoor clothing. This impressive selection also includes a fantastic range of high-quality wading gear. In addition to reliable waders, wading jackets and wading boots, Patagonia offers a variety of practice-oriented backpacks and packs. As a co-founder of the "One Percent for the Planet" movement, Patagonia has been donating around 1% of its annual revenue to environmental organisations since 2002. By transferring the entire company shares, this inspiring brand set new standards in terms of sustainability. The “Earth is now our only shareholder” represented by the Patagonia Purpose Trust and the non-profit organisation Holdfast Collective. From now on, all profits – except for the money that is reinvested in the company – will be used to fight the environmental crisis and save the planet.
