The Ahrex 'Home Run' (HR) Series is designed for Atlantic- and Pacific salmon, sea run brown trout and Steelhead. These species follow their instinct and make an annual migration to their spawning grounds. All models of the HR series are super tough and strong for challenging these powerful fish, whether the scene is a Great Lakes tributary, a mighty Norwegian salmon river or the windswept rivers of Tierra del Fuego.
The HR483 is the barbless version of the Ahrex HR482 and first choice for fishermen practicing catch & release. It features a short shank and is typically used as a trailer due to its up-eye. Great for many different pacific salmon or steelhead flies (e.g. Intruder). It has a wider gap and will keep that big fish on the end of the line. You can rely on its strong wire and the super sharp, chemically sharpened point. Can be used as a stinger hook for a pike rig too!
