However, with the abundance of accessories, it's easy to lose track of what you need, and for that very purpose, we've compiled a list of the 10 most important accessory items for a worry-free and successful day on the water.

The selected items are ideal for modern predator fishing from bank or boat and include accessories tested by us and used privately, which we trust 100%!

1) Landing Net
Hardly anything can be missed so painfully on the water as a landing net. Especially when a big fish bites, you want to land it safely, and the landing net is a help that should not be underestimated. But even with smaller fish, a landing net is important, because it allows a much gentler and quicker handling of the fish. Whether from a boat or on foot, the market is as huge as it is diverse and offers the most varied solutions for the most diverse situations. For us, rubberized nets are mandatory, because they allow a more gentle handling of the fish, avoid unpleasant odors and prevent getting stick with the trebles of your lure. Especially at SPRO and Rapala you will find a wide range of different landing net options in our assortment - here is a suitable net for every situation and every budget.

2) Backpack or Tackle Bag
Provisions, spare clothes, tackle boxes, camera and much more. For an extended day on the water, the packing list can quickly become long, so for us a well thought-out carrying aid is one of the absolute top essentials when fishing. For a short after-work session a comfortable shoulder bag is enough, e.g. SPRO or Illex provide great solutions here, which offer enough space for a few tackle boxes and appropriate accessories. If the day on the water gets be a little longer, we prefer a real fishing backpack with adequate storage space for all your equipment, with appropriate fastening options for the most important tools and a smart division to always keep track. Sportex, SPRO and Rapala offer well thought-out options here, so that your hands remain free and you can fully concentrate on fishing!

3) Pliers / Multitool
Loosening hooks, re-rigging, clamping lead, opening split rings or performing small repairs. Good pliers simply shound be with you when fishing at all times. They should be robust and work reliably. Meanwhile, there are very good solutions for pliers with integrated cutting tools that also help you when rigging. The strong jaws must give a secure grip even on large hooks and the side cutter should also easily cut titanium or steel leaders. We prefer pliers with a holster and safety strap, which ensures that the pliers are always handy and ready for use. We especially like the pliers selection at SPRO, Rapala and Dr. Slick, where you can find reliable high-performance tools at a very fair price.

4) Knive
Just like pliers, a knife is a must for fishing. A sharp, pointed blade is essential, not at last for the proper utilization of the caught fish. The knife should be robust, easily accessible, sharp and easy to clean. Exactly these requirements are met by the Morakniv Basic 546, a knife with a long-lasting sharp and stainless blade, ergonomically shaped and non-slip handle and practical belt clip. An affordable all-round solution that should not be missed.

5) Tackle Boxes
Order is half the battle - this is especially true when fishing! A clear organization of your lures, hooks, weights, snaps, crimps, swivels, etc. saves a lot of frustration and time. Time when your lure could be in the water tempting your next PB. That's why proper organization of all small parts is especially important to us. A box with compartments for flexible storage of your lures and lead heads, a few small-parts stocker boxes for snaps, swivels, weights and Co. Especially the large assortment of Lure Lock and SPRO creates perfect remedy.

Tools BoxTackle Boxes should not be missing in your kit, they keep all your small parts and accessories in order.

6) Hook sharpener
To really exploit every bite safely, sharp hooks are paramount. Small hook sharpeners can be taken to the water to save space and allow the hook to be resharpened. Especially when fishing close to the bottom, it happens again and again that hooks become dull over time. And nothing is more annoying than missing a hard bite because the hook was dull. Tiemco can not only produce razor-sharp hooks, for example, but also knows how to keep them sharp with their handy hook sharpeners. So maximize your fishing success and relieve incidentally your wallet.

7) Tippet and Dispenser
In order to be ideally prepared for all situations, it usually takes more than just one leader strength. So that your leader line is safely stored and always ready to hand, Stroft offers the practical leader spool system. With it you can carry up to five different spools of leader line with you and cut them to the desired length easily and quickly thanks to the integrated cutter rings. In the system your lines are better protected from UV radiation, so the leader spool system not only makes your life easier, but ensures that the line retains its performance longer.

8) Monomaster / Trash container
Leave no Trash behind! This also applies to our line remnants. And to make the proper disposal of these "annoying" remains a convenience, a Monomaster is surely part of the basic equipment. An unfortunately not yet too widespread, but great accessory! It allows you to roll up line remnants and dispose them properly later. As anglers, we should be aware of our responsibility towards nature and set a particularly good example. Due to the small pack size and low weight, you do not notice it when fishing and due to the practical mode of operation, line remnants are disposed with a quick turn of your hand. Of course, there are other tools that the conscious angler should bring along, such as the Rapala Trash Tub. The small can is ideal as a trash can, which can be carried at any time without disturbing.

9) Polarized glasses
Powerful polarized glasses are irreplaceable on the water and every angler should carry one. Not only do the goggles protect us from dangerous UV radiation, to which we as anglers are particularly exposed, but they also allow us to look deeper into the water. Polarized glasses have the property that they reduce light reflections and reflections on the water surface and thus allow us to look through the surface into the water. This is not only to be able to see fish directly, but also to recognize structures in the water, where fish usually stay. In addition, they relieve our eyes and help us to get through the day without tiring. Especially brilliant lenses and a variety of different lens and frame options with impressive quality can be found at Costa, Bajio and Smith. Of course, we have the right model for every budget and every head shape in our comprehensive range. So be sure to check out the glasses from Leech, Storm, Spro and Gamakatsu.

10) Tape measure / unhooking mat
Of course, we would all like to know how big the caught fish actually is and especially when the fish is to be put back, it requires a particularly careful and quick approach. To measure the fish without hurting it, unhooking mats with a integrated tape measure are ideal. They precisely indicate how big the fish is and at the same time support a quick and safe fish handling. Especially the Spro Predator Unhooking Mat has done it to us, because it has a small pack size and weighs very little, is easy to clean, is equipped with a knee pad and measures up to 140 cm long fish. Before laying the mat should be briefly moistened so that the mucous membrane of the fish is not injured. In the blink of an eye, nothing stands in the way of a photo and the measurement and all extremely gentle to the fish!

As anglers, we are keen to make the most of the fishing day and good organization contributes immensely to this. The selection of accessories is huge and we hope that we could make it easier for you with this list or offer new inspiration.

Of course we are at your disposal for further questions and wish you a lot of fun on the water
