With the Guidewater series, Patagonia introduces the new generation of the popular Stormsurge/Stormfront bags. The revised version not only impresses with a modern design, but also scores in terms of functionality and wearing comfort! The Guidewater family includes two backpacks, a sling and a hip pack. In this video we present the features of the new Guidewater Backpack with Zip in detail.
The Guidewater bags follow in the footsteps of the popular Stormfront and Stormsurge packs from Patagonia and pick up where the reliable water protection of the previous models left off. In addition to the hard-wearing material made from 100% recycled nylon, the proven waterproof zip and the waterproof construction with taped seams are responsible for this. This means that all Guidewater packs meet the high requirements of waterproof class IPX-7, which ensures that the contents of the bags remain dry even when completely submerged. Ideal for transporting valuable equipment and sensitive gear.
All Guidewater bags are made of robust nylon with TPU coating, which is obtained from 100% recycled material. This makes the bag series the first choice for environmentally conscious fly fishers who are looking for a faithful companion for all adventures on the fishing water.
The Guidewater series by Patagonia includes a backpack with zip, backpack with roll-top, sling and hip pack as well as a large boat bag that is particularly suitable for carrying reels, fly boxes and other accessories. The Patagonia Guidewater Backpack is our personal favourite from the series. Also because the previous model of this versatile backpack has proven itself to us over the last few years.
With a capacity of 29 L, the new model of the backpack offers plenty of storage space for everything you need for a long day on the water. A 2-way zipper allows easy access with the left or right hand. The inside has also changed: The laptop compartment is new and provides a better overview. There is also an organiser pocket inside that separates small items from the main compartment and can also be hooked in on the outside with buckles. A great option for all those who like to have small items such as leaders etc. quickly to hand!
The fabric and webbing of the bag are made of 100% recycled nylon and the lining and back surface are made of 100% recycled polyester. The hydrophobic material on the body side and straps does not absorb water and therefore also offers very high wearing comfort. There are various tabs on the outside for fixing tools and accessories - more than on the previous model. A pocket integrated into the back padding makes it possible to stow a landing net quickly and effortlessly. A great feature that further improves the functionality of the backpack when fishing.
Another interesting feature is that the backpack from the Guidewater series can be combined with the Patagonia Convertible Vest and the Stealth Work Station - which we also presented to you in a video. All in all, a very modern, very functional bag for demanding fly fishers who want to protect their equipment from wet conditions.
