Platinum G2 Series

The flagship of the Beulah rod family is the Platinum G2 series. The 'G2' here stands for 'Generation 2', as this is a new edition, or rather, a further development of the popular Platinium. The rod designers at Beulah were sure that with modern blank technologies they would be able to improve the well-balanced design of the old series once again. They succeeded in this by using graphene resin! The special matrix structure of graphene gives conventional carbon fibres an even higher structural integrity and makes the rod blank extremely light. At the same time, it remains very robust, so that rods made of graphene from Beulah are prepared for all adventures and tough practical use.

We wanted to convince ourselves of this and grabbed the travel-friendly Beulah G2 Platinum Graphene Spey and took it with us to Norway, where we tested it intensively for fresh Atlantic Salmon.

This 6-piece rod series is a small work of art and the attention to detail in the workmanship is obvious as soon as you unpack it. It starts with the classy, black-blue blank, which is fitted with high-quality rings from Snake Brand and perfectly wrapped and varnished. The sleek AAAA cork handle with subtle decorations is very finely polished and feels great in the hand. It is complemented by a beautiful, polished, up-locking reel seat made of aluminium, which has a high-quality burl wood inlay. This also makes each rod visually unique! The curved hand lettering on the blank rounds off the masterpiece and fits perfectly with the noble, classic overall appearance of the G2 Platinum Graphene. A real eye-catcher on the salmon river! But the G2 Platinium also makes a great first impression when casting and fishing.

Already during the first spey casts with this two-handed rod you will notice its very low swing weight. A result of the exclusive material mixture using graphene! In combination with a Beulah Tonic V2 Skagit Head Spey shooting head and a replacement tip (between 12 ft. and 15 ft.) the 6-piece blank works very deep and gives a continuous flex - for which many rods from Beulah have become famous. The special graphene blank provides fast recovery and reduces unwanted lateral vibrations. This makes clean loops very easy and effortless and precise casts are a breeze - both underhand and skagit style. But the Beulah G2 Platinum Graphene Spey also cast very harmoniously with other shooting heads and multi-tip systems. So it doesn't have to be short, aggressive Skagit heads and heavy sink tips to have a lot of fun with this rod!

The G2 Platinum two-handed rod is a new edition of the popular Platinum, which has become the absolute favourite rod for many spey anglers. Why? Thanks to the new material mix, the G2 has become even lighter and can be fished effectively with all casting styles and shooting heads without any effort.
