'Euro Nymphing' has become a very popular term amongs fly fishers all across the globe during the last couple of years. At the same time as these different tight line nymphing techniques (e.g. Czech Nymphing, French Nymphing, Spanish Nymphing etc.) evolved, new flies and new interpretations of classic nymph patterns arose too. Due to new tying materials like jig hooks and tungsten beads it is finally possible to present small flies in fast current to Trout and Grayling feeding close to the bottom. A big advantage on many rivers!
In this tying video we show you a modern variation of a Pheasant Tail Nymph: The 'Pearly Flashback Pheasant Tail Jig'. This pattern uses little material and can be tied in different sizes - from #12 to #16. It's tied with a back made from Uni Mylar Tinsel and works also great in dusty waters.
