These patterns can be tied quickly and easily. Patterns, that have proven themselves thousands of times in practice and with which you can quickly fill your fly box. An emerger can be fished not only just below the surface or in the film of the surface current, but also one floor below: In midwater. Especially when a hatch is in progress, but Trout and Grayling do not give themselves away by rings on the surface. The perfect time for a weighted 'emerger'.

Simple Flies - Inspired by the Fulling Mill Tactical Jig Series

The 'Black CDC Emerger Jig' is inspired by the current Fulling Mill fly collection. In a very similar form, the small, discreet jig nymph is part of the popular Tactical Jig Series of the British fly manufacturer. For us, one of the most beautiful patterns from the series and also very successful in international competitions.

The Black CDC Emerger Jig is tied on a #14, #16 or #18 size hook and weighted with a tungsten bead. However, slightly lighter than typical for the hook size. Especially if it is to be fished in combination with a second fly (on the sidearm or 'dropper'). Beads with a diameter of 3.0mm or 2.5mm are optimal.

The central material for this somewhat lighter jig nymphe is a good CDC feather, which is hackled only once around the hook shank. It gives the pattern in the current the characteristic look and provides the very special charm. The overall dark color of this pattern is suitable for any water and also works very well on Trout and Grayling, which have already seen many flies.
